Application instructions

You can apply online from this website, or you can print out an application form and send in your application by post. Details for how to do this are given below.

Please ensure your application is returned to us by the closing date, as late applications may not be accepted.

Applications are short listed on competencies so when completing the application, consider the competencies and attributes identified in the role description and include your experience and skills in these specific areas in your curriculum vitae. Please read our guidelines for writing your curriculum vitae.

Include referees who can be contacted by telephone or email. Written references are unnecessary.

If you are sending a hard copy of your CV please do not send any original documents.

How to apply

To apply for a vacancy online, click on the relevant 'apply online' field in the Current Vacancies page. You will be able to attach your CV if you have it ready as a MS Word document, or alternatively you can paste it into the application form.

If you wish to send in your application by mail, print out and complete this application form:

Guidelines for writing your curriculum vitae

You should include the following items in your curriculum vitae. This will enable us to accurately assess your suitability for the position:

  1. Your name
    Your address
    Your contact telephone numbers

  2. The name of the position you are applying for E.g. Land Management Officer.

  3. Relevant experience
    A summary of your relevant experience that proves you have the skills to do the job that you are applying for. Before you write this section thoroughly read the role description. Identify the key competencies/attributes you will need for the position E.g. customer service experience, supervisory skills. Use the skills that you have identified from the role description as headings for your relevant experience section.

  4. Employment history
    List your employment history, starting with your most recent employment. State the name of the position, then the name of the employer and a brief description of your role and responsibilities.

  5. Qualifications
    List your qualifications and any educational programmes you are currently involved in. Do not include copies of qualifications and certificates. Bring these with you if you are interviewed. Please include the date you received your qualification and the educational institution you attended.

  6. Interests/extracurricular achievements
    Include any unpaid work experience/interests/hobbies that show you have the ability to do the job that you are applying for.

  7. References/referees
    Do not include copies of references. These may be asked for if you are interviewed for the position. List the names of three referees who are available and able to make comment on your ability to do the job. List their names, adresses and phone numbers. Make sure that your referees know you have applied for this position and may be contacted.
