Hazards (general)

Our region has more volcanic hazards than any other region in New Zealand. Flooding and earthquakes are also major threats. The damage that a hazard event causes can be minimised if the public are aware of and prepared for hazard events.

The indicators below tell us about the risks and damage from natural hazards in the Waikato region, and preventative actions taken to reduce them. Check out related indicators of factors affecting the damage from natural hazard events.
