All councils prepare a Long-Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP). The LTCCP provides opportunities for you and your community to have a say in Environment Waikato's decision-making. The LTCCP describes what we will do over the next 10 years and why, outcomes we are working toward and how those activities will be funded.

Long-Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP)
A Long-Term Council Community Plan covers at least 10 years and identifies desired community outcomes - the things the community considers are important for its well-being. The LTCCP describes the council's intended contribution to those outcomes - the activites the local authority will engage in - and why - over the life of the plan, and how those activities will be funded. The LTCCP is reviewed and prepared every three years.
You can read Environment Waikato's Long-Term Council Community Plan for 2009-2019 online.
Annual Plan
This is a document which the council adopts each year that sets out the budget for the year, and the sources of funding for the year. The Annual Plan is prepared in the years between each LTCCP.
Once the LTCCP is in place, the Annual Plan process continues but the focus is on year-to-year budgets. The annual plans produced in the intervening years support the LTCCP, and their primary purpose is to provide the base for setting and assessing of rates.
The 2009/10 Annual Plan is incorporated into the 2009-2019 LTCCP.
Annual Report
The Annual Report is our annual statement to the community of what we spent and the progress we made over the year toward the outcomes identified in the Long-Term Council Community Plan and Annual Plan.
Revenue and Financing Policy
Our Revenue and Financing Policy (previously our Funding Policy) explains how we fund our activities. For each activity, we examine who benefits from the activity and who contributes to the need for the council’s involvement. These factors are taken into account in determining who should pay for the activity.
Treasury Policy
Our Treasury Policy includes all of our policies related to borrowing, investment, cash management and liability management activities. This Treasury Policy provides the framework for all the council's treasury activities and defines the key responsibilities and operating parameters within which activities are to be carried out.

Community outcomes
