Schedule 1 - Location specific information

Schedule 1.25 - Lake Ngaroto

In accordance with subclause 4.2.2 (Location specific schedules), any clauses contained in this schedule shall be read in conjunction with all other clauses in this bylaw.

Area covered

This schedule applies to the inland waters known as Lake Ngaroto, as shown in Map 25.

Reserved areas

S1.25.1 Prohibited power-driven vessels area
In accordance with clause 3.9.3, Lake Ngaroto is reserved for the purpose of passive recreation.

Within this zone:

  1. All power-driven vessels are prohibited, with the exception of:
    1. any vessel used by an enforcement officer while undertaking duties to implement this bylaw
    2. any support vessel
    3. any vessel associated with erecting and managing hunting stands prior to and during the annual duck hunting season
    4. any emergency response craft or police vessel
    5. any vessel operated by a council-authorised person to undertake lake inspections or maintenance of facilities.
  2. Any person seeking any other exemption to this subclause shall apply to the council in accordance with subclause 4.2.1.

S1.25.2 Subclause 3.2.1 (a) and (b) of this bylaw is suspended for vessels powered by sail, and any vessel listed in S1.25.1 a).
