3  Significant Resource Management Issues, Objectives, Policies and Methods

3.1 Introduction

The purpose of Part 3 of the RPS is to:

1. briefly describe the key features of the Waikato Region
   
2. provide an overview of natural and physical resources within the Region
   
3. provide a summary of the significant resource management issues identified in the overview
   
4. provide resource management issues, objectives, policies, methods, principal reasons for adopting and environmental results anticipated for the Region.
