Coromandel Peninsula blueprint

The Coromandel Peninsula Blueprint is a joint initiative between four agencies:

Thames-Coromandel District Council
Environment Waikato
Department of Conservation
Hauraki Whaanui.

These four groups collaborate under the Coromandel Peninsula Blueprint to achieve integrated planning on the Coromandel Peninsula. Environment Waikato contributes to the combined planning approach by aligning our values and responsibilities with those from the other three agencies, to create a common direction for the Coromandel Peninsula for the next 20 to 50 years.

The process includes three phases: research, issues and options identification, and adoption. The research phase is complete and the project is now in the issues and options identification phase. In April 2008, the Coromandel community was presented with four development options for the future and invited to provide written feedback. This feedback has now been received and is currently being analysed.
